I am developing a network of people, businesses, and organizations that are offering services to folks who are contemplating getting married. Any service that gets listed here is one that I have personally checked out to be both friendly to or a member of our Community and are someone I would use myself when I am lucky enough to meet the love of my life. Being married as a gay couple in California creates many complications and extra work at tax time.

I have a Masters degree in Taxation and can prepare tax returns for you or resolve any other tax issues.

Gay & Lesbian couples generally have the same rights and responsibilities that all married couples have -- at least under state law.  For California tax purposes, the same tax rules that apply (relating to filing status, community property income, etc.) now apply to gay married couples.  However, because the federal government does not recognize this marriage, we must continue to file as unmarried individuals on their federal returns, yet joint for California.

See the Franchise Tax Board's website for more information:  http://www.ftb.ca.gov/individuals/Same_sex_marriage/index.shtml

    Please contact me for assistance at:  866 - 201 - 0245.
